Pima County's Geographic Information System (GIS) was honored with a Special Achievement in GIS Award, presented by the Environmental Systems Research Institute's president and founder, Jack Dangermond, in a ceremony on June 20, 2007 in San Diego, California.

2004 Public Works Small Project of the Year Award
The Pima County DOT GIS Division won the 2004 Public Works Small Project of the Year from the American Public Works Association, Arizona Chapter, for it's Pima County Sewer Conveyance Model.

The American Planning Association (APA) presented the Pima County DOT GIS Division with its 2002 Outstanding Planning Award for a Plan for its entry Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan.

Best Multi-Agency Plan / Coordination 2001
The Pima County DOT GIS Division won the 2001 Best Multi-Agency Plan/Coordination State Planning Award from the Arizona Planning Association for its entry Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan. The award was accepted by John Regan, GIS Manager.
