Kino Community Center

Mission

The Center is located directly across the street from the Stadium and designed to accommodate the leisure and recreation needs of all residents of the central and south-side neighborhoods and business areas. It is ADA accessible. Its mission is to provide quality recreation programs for all generations in a safe, properly equipped facility, to emphasize respect for each other, and to promote local partnerships with our youth, veterans, neighborhoods and Tucson businesses.

Children’s Programs

Day Camp
The Kino Community Center offers safe and structured day camp programs for boys and girls, ages 6-12. A variety of activities are provided including arts & crafts, sports, athletics, performing arts and much more. TOTS Program
Teaching Our Toddlers Skills (TOTS) is an educational, social and recreational program for toilet-trained preschoolers, ages 3-5. Toddlers participate in playtime, arts & crafts and song & dance, while learning the alphabet, colors, shapes and sizes, numbers and much more. Enrollment is limited to 20 children. Class is Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and then 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Use this link to learn more about the TOTS program. Or call today (520) 740-4651 for more information.

Gymnasium

The 8000 sq. ft. wood parquet gym is set up for basketball and volleyball. Get together with your friends or co-workers, or just drop in for a pick up game of basketball or volleyball. Open gym hours may change due to special events, so call ahead to confirm hours of operation.

Weight and Fitness Room

Weight Room
Our weight room is equipped with circuit training/stacked weight, cardio equipment and available to males and females ages 17 and up. For your safety, a Weight Room certification class is required prior using the equipment. Certified fitness trainers are available to help you get the most out of your work out!

Fitness Classes
Aerobics, Martial Arts, and Zumba are all part of the fitness program offered at the Kino Community Center. Steps, mats, dynabands, and exercise balls are available during the session. Most classes are scheduled during the week day, but schedules may vary so please call the center to confirm the day and time for classes.  

Clay Room

A variety of pottery classes are offered such as hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques, raku, tile making and more. View our current clay schedule for a list of classes and online registration information.

Rental Information

Room Rental
Rooms are available by reservation for community, non-profit, businesses and to the general public. for training, conferences, social gatherings & ceremonies, parties and much more! A serving kitchen is available, plus tables and chairs are provided by the center for your meeting. Please contact Michael Jacquez at (520) 740-4651 to reserve a room.  In addition, you can view our rates for meeting room rental costs.

Ramada Rental
Nine ramadas are available for rent throughout the complex. The fee is $15/ramada. A reservation form must be completed, signed by the Community Center, and your fee must be paid in-full prior to using the space. Remember to retain your copy of the rental form and have it present with you the day of your reservation. Please contact Michael Jacquez at (520) 740-4651 to reserve a ramada. You may download and complete your reservation form in advance. Then bring your fee with the completed papework to the front desk at Kino Community Center.

Gym Rental
The gymnasium is available for community, organizations and corporate special events. Contact Michael Mona at 520-740-4654 for gym rental and fees.

Seniors Program

The center provides a socialization and recreation program for the young-at-heart age 50 and over. A variety of activities include senior volleyball, basketball, plus exercise & fitness classes all geared for people over 50 years old.

Swimming Pool

The Center features a 120 ft. water slide, zero depth entry, and four waveless lap lanes swimming pool. Full locker and shower area is available. The pool is wheelchair accessible and wheelchairs are available for use in the pool area. Open summers only.
