The Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program is a certification program that offers an opportunity for small businesses in the Tucson Metropolitan Area to potentially do business with Pima County. It is a program that fosters economic growth and serves to enhance business opportunities for local firms.
The SBE Program is a race and gender neutral program in that, SBE applicants may be representative of any and all ethnic and gender groups.
The SBE program offers incentives to small businesses interested in doing business Pima County on contracts administered by the Procurement Department, which may include, bid preferences for material and general services and subcontracting goals for construction, goods, services, and materials.
Subcontracting goals for construction contracts are based on the availability of certified, qualified, and willing SBE businesses in specific industries and/or trades.
The SBE Program provides a good faith waiver to contractors.
Pima County recognizes the SBE Certification approved by
the City of Tucson (COT)
