Shooting and Archery Range Rules

Range Administrative Rules

1. Alcohol is prohibited on the firing ranges. Anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol is prohibited from shooting.
2. Shooting is allowed on designated areas and at approved targets with lawful devices only.
3. The use of tracer, armor piercing, incendiary ammunition, and 50 Caliber BMG and derivative calibers are prohibited.
4. All youth under 16 must be supervised by parent or responsible adult.
5. Firearms shooting is restricted to the designated ranges.
6. Driving off paved roads or parking lots is prohibited.
7. The speed limit is as posted.
8. All trash must be placed in containers provided.
9. Glass containers are prohibited.
10. This facility is closed to the taking of wildlife.
11. All laws are enforced on this range per Arizona Revised Statutes 13-1501. Violators will be prosecuted.

Gun Handling Rules

1. Treat every firearm as if it were loaded.
2. Always keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction.
3. Be sure of your target and beyond.
4. Always keep your finger off of the trigger until you are on target and ready to fire.
5. Always keep your firearm empty and action open until the range masters give commands to load and commence firing.
6. Be sure your gun is safe and operational.
7. Know how to use your gun safely.
8. Use only the correct ammunition for your gun.
9. Never use alcohol or drugs before shooting.
10. Shooters need to monitor and store their own guns so they are not accessible to unauthorized shooters.

Range Safety Rules

1. Obey all commands from range masters and line safety officers.
2. All range users and shooters are personally responsible for range safety and safe shooting.
3. All shooters are responsible to immediately correct any unsafe conditions.
4. If you observe any unsafe facility condition, report it immediately to a range master.
5. Shooters and observers must wear ear and eye protection.
6. Firearms must be carried with the muzzle up, and actions open.
7. Muzzles must always be pointed up or down range.
8. Firearms will be kept unloaded until on the firing line.
9. Firing is permitted when all persons are behind the firing line and safe conditions exist and range master commands are given.
10. Firearms are not to be handled during “cease fire” periods, or when people are in front of the firing line. All shooters must remain behind the yellow safety line, unless going down range to set up, take down or inspect target or pick up brass in front of the red firing line.
11. All shooting is to be into impact berms only.
12. No shooting at unauthorized targets (cans, bottles, boxes, etc.) or anything on the ground.
13. No shooting at target frames.
14. All shooting will be in authorized areas only.
15. All shooters are responsible to pick up their brass and deposit in the brass buckets nearest their shooting position and pick up and place all trash in containers before leaving the facility.
16. Respect others and their equipment.
17. Alcohol beverages are prohibited on all ranges.
18. Persons who have been consuming alcohol or are under the influence of drugs are prohibited from shooting.
19. Smoking is ONLY permitted in designated areas.
20. Wash your hands after shooting.
21. Please follow these rules while using the range. Violations will be enforced. Violators may be asked to leave the facility, and subject to criminal and civil sanctions.

Archery Range Rules

1. This is an honor pay target archery range only. Failure to pay will result in prosecution.
2. This area is closed to hiking, bicycling, hunting, horseback riding, shooting of firearms and off-highway vehicle use.
3. No hunting broad heads may be used.
4. All range users and shooters are personally responsible for range safety and safe shooting.
5. All shooting is to be into the target backstops only.
6. All children under 16 must be supervised by parent or responsible adult.
7. Alcohol is prohibited. Anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol is prohibited from shooting.
8. All trash must be placed in containers provided.
9. Glass containers are prohibited.
10. All laws are enforced on this Range.
