Sonoran Desert Weedwackers
Join in the good works of the all-volunteer Sonoran Desert Weedwackers and do your part in restoring the health of the desert in Tucson Mountain Park. Each month the volunteer weed-warriors make good progress with the work of eradicating buffelgrass and other exotic weeds from natural areas. Experts provide instruction on plant identification and the proper techniques for removal. Gloves and digging bars provided. You will need to bring water, snacks, a hat, sunscreen and sturdy shoes. Meet at the Caretaker’s House in Tucson Mountain Park, 2020 N. Kinney Road, across from the Desert Museum. If you plan to attend, please call 615-7855 or e-mail eeducation@pima.gov
