The following programs are for groups of 10 to 50 people and are tailored for ages 18 and up. Experience the rich history and diversity of plants and animals by the natural spring at Agua Caliente Park, or enjoy a guided walk in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains at Feliz Paseos Park. If bringing your group out to the park is a challenge, Pima County educators are available to come to your group’s meeting place to make a presentation on a variety of engaging topics. All programs are free and last 45-60 minutes unless otherwise noted.

Bringing Nature to Your Group
These activities require an indoor space for digital slide presentations. All programs welcome active participation and include interactive elements.
Gardening for Birds and Butterflies
Learn how to create an environment that will attract birds and butterflies to your home landscape by understanding their needs for food, water, sunlight and space. Many of the common local birds and butterflies are illustrated with colorful slides.
Living with Urban Wildlife
Learn about our resident wildlife, their habitat needs, and why they may be attracted to your yard. We’ll also discuss ways to design and manage your personal property to benefit both you and wildlife, and practical tips on how to discourage wildlife that may become a nuisance or pose a risk to you and your family.
Cacti of the Desert Southwest
Discover the enormous variety of cacti found in our region and enjoy images of their colorful flowers. Information will be provided on pollination, general ecology and traditional uses by native peoples.
Venomous and Poisonous Creatures
Learn about the biology and adaptations of some of Arizona’s amazing creatures including rattlesnakes, scorpions, and Gila monsters.
The Wonderful World of Bats
Bats are nocturnal, secretive, and the only mammals capable of flight. At this presentation you will learn about the exciting night life and adaptations of this interesting group of animals and the important roles they play in the environment.
Buffelgrass in The Sonoran Desert
Learn why the spread of buffelgrass is a threat to our desert and our community, and find out how you can join the effort to help manage, control, and eradicate this aggressive, non-native grass.
Desert Wildflowers
Springtime in the desert is a time to enjoy the beauty, color and rich variety of local wildflowers. Learn about our abundant desert wildflowers during an engaging and colorful indoor digital slide presentation. Tips on wildflower gardening will also be provided.
Take Your Group to a Natural Resource Park
The guided tours and park activities are offered in two of Pima County’s universal access parks. Distance and duration of walks are adjusted to best suit your group.
Historical Tour Of Agua Caliente Park
Enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic buildings and plantings to understand how the year-round presence of water from the spring influenced the ranching and farming activities on the property and how past residents changed the landscape.
Birding Walk At Agua Caliente Park
Take a casual stroll through the park and spot wetland birds, cardinals, thrashers, hummingbirds, songbirds, and raptors nestled among the mesquites and palms. Discover why Agua Caliente Park is considered one of the premier birding spots in the Tucson area. Binoculars are available for use during the walk or bring your own.
Nature Walk at Feliz Paseos Park
Enjoy a naturalist-guided tour through Feliz Paseos Park in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains. The densely vegetated washes and saguaro-studded hillsides offer some of the best wildlife viewing in the Tucson area. The park’s paved and gravel paths are wheelchair accessible.
