Instructors Wanted

Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation is looking for new instructors to teach at any of the county’s Leisure Class locations, but especially the Ellie Towne Flowing Wells Community Center. We are seeking instructors in any and all media and/or disciplines, such as language, drawing, painting, needle arts, exercise, dance, etc. We are looking for instructors for youth and/or teen classes as well as adult classes.

Pima County contracts with instructors. Potential instructors will need to submit a completed Request for Proposal (RFP). We will have the RFP open and available for interested parties by early April and will be offering contracts so that new instructors can potentially offer classes in fall 2009. The RFP will be advertised in The Territorial newspaper on February 26, February 27, and March 2 and in the Sunday Arizona Star on Sunday, March 7 and the Star and the Citizen Wednesday, March 11.

Pre-proposal meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, March 10 at the Lew Sorensen Community Center, 11100 E. Tanque Verde Road (intersection of Tanque Verde and Tanque Verde Loop Roads) and Thursday, March 12 at the Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation administration office, 3500 West River Road. Both meetings will begin at 6:00 p.m. for those who want more information about submitting a proposal, classroom facilities, or the type of classes wanted. Proposals will be due to Pima County Procurement March 26 no later than 10:00 a.m. Late proposals will be returned to applicant without opening.

lf interested, you may log on to the Pima County Procurement Department website (www.pima.gov/procure), click on ‘Materials and Services Solicitation’ (in the left hand column under ‘Services’) and look for a copy of the RFP which you will be able to print out, starting on February 27. If you are interested in submitting a proposal to teach classes you should log onto the Procurement website and register under the ‘New & Update Vender Registration Portal (VRAMP)’. After logging onto the Procurement website click on “How to do Business with Pima County,” then click on ‘New & Update Vender Registration Portal (VRAMP)’ and complete the registration form. If you are listed on VRAMP you will be sent a copy of the RFP automatically. For more information, contact Brenda Wilson at 740-3549, e-mail: brenda.wilson@pima.gov or Carolyn Lenz at 877-6156, e-mail; carolyn.lenz@pima.gov
