Clay/Pottery

Creating with Clay
Instructor: Marilyn Cleavinger
This class will take you through the process of making your own pottery. Class demonstrations will reflect student's areas of interest and will include hand built and wheel thrown projects chosen to increase your knowledge and success with clay. All skill levels are welcome. Glaze firings are at cone 5 temperature using an electric kiln. Clay is available for purchase at the studio for $10/25 lbs. There is also a required materials fee of $15 which will be collected by the instructor at the first class. (No class July 4)

Pottery/Clay
Instructor: Jada Ahern, BFA
Students will work with cone 10 clay and glazes. Specific assignments given by the instructor will build your clay skills. Self-motivated students can work on their own. All skill levels are welcome. Techniques include hand building, sculpture, throwing on the potter's wheel, glazing, and firing. Student supplies basic tool kit and may purchase clay at the facility. Student MUST be able to lift 25lbs. Materials fee of $15 is payable to instructor at first class meeting. NOTE: 3-405JA & 4-405JA - ADVanced by permission only. (No classes May 20-28)

Throwing Bootcamp
Instructor: Jada Ahern, BFA
Students will be given exercises to improve their throwing abilities. The first half hour of class is prep, the last half hour clean up, and the middle two hours will be doing intensive exercises to improve your throwing abilities. All pieces will be cut in half and evaluated. Nothing will be fired. Student must be able to center 1-3 pounds of clay. Student will need to bring or purchase 25 lbs. of soft throwing clay.

One Day in Clay
Instructor:Jada Ahern BFA
Check clay out in this one-day three-hour clay class for adults who are interested in experimenting with clay for the first time. This is a great opportunity to have fun and experience the transformational qualities of clay before you commit to a weekly class. Participants will create at least two clay projects which can be picked up after they have been fired. You will also become familiar with the inner workings of a clay studio. Invite a friend or relative to join you – this class is a wonderful relaxing way to spend a weekend afternoon. Materials fee of $10 is payable to instructor at first class meeting.

Sunday Morning Clay Class

Clay Experience
