KAPP: Kids And Parent Playtime
This 8 week program is for children ages 3-5 years who are toilet trained and their parent/s.  A variety of activities are offered which may include arts and crafts, music, story time, nutrition education, early learning skills, socialization, sports skills, active games, and much more.  Parent must accompany the child and remain on premises during the entire program.  Additional parent programming available. Please contact the community center for more information.
Registration is by lottery.
Tuesday and Wednesday, 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
Winter Session: January 3 - March 2, 2012
Registration (by lottery): December 12-16, 2011 during center hours.
Space limited to 8 children.

kids programAfter School Program
Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation facilities are not licensed childcare facilities under section 36-882 of A.R.S.  The school-age youth programs are “at will” drop in programs and youth enrolled in the programs may come and go of their own volition.

The after school program is for children ages 5-13. 5-year-olds must be enrolled in elementary school. Activities include homework help, reading program, group games, sports, arts and crafts, board and table games, special events, and more. The program is free except for some special events.
Spring Session: January-May, 2012
Registration (by lottery): December 12-16, 2011 during business hours
Space limited to 25 children.

Seniors Group
Meet first Wednesday each month, 1:00 p.m.
Field trips and special events are discussed and planned at meetings. Guest speakers cover topics of health, finance, and current events. No field trips in June or July.

Enhance Fitness
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Exercise class for strength, balance and coordination. Designed for the mature exerciser. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes (preferably sneakers). This is an evidenced based-grant provided class. Participants must commit to attending a minimum of 2 days per week. Pre-registration required. Fee based, see instructor for cost.

Hummin’ and Strummin’
Thursday, 6:00-8:30 p.m.
Musical entertainment with vocal accompaniment. Enjoy listening, participating, and socializing.

Card Club
Monday and Thursday, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Canasta, gin rummy, spades, pinochle, and other card games.

Craft Group
Tuesday, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Members enjoy socializing and doing needlepoint, crocheting, knitting, and other crafts.

quilters clubQuilters Club
Wednesday, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Come and join the quilters as they work on community projects or bring along your own work and enjoy the social setting.
Fee: Quilters provide their own fabric and thread.

English as a Second Language
Tuesday and Wednesday, 10:00-12:00 p.m.
Instructor provided by Parent-Child Center.
Fee: Free

Alcoholics Anonymous
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 7:30-8:30 p.m.
Al-Anon: Thursday, 7:30 p.m.
Narcotics Anonymous: Tuesday 7:00 p.m.

Boy Scout Troop #218: Wednesday, 7:00-9:00 p.m.
4H Club: Second Monday, first Tuesday, and first Wednesday each month 6:00 p.m.
Citizens For Picture Rocks: Third Tuesday each month, 7:00-8:00 p.m. Citizens meet to discuss concerns for the Picture Rocks area.
H.O.P.E. Healing from Oppression to Peaceful Existence support group for women. Meets Tuesdays 6:00-7:30 p.m..

Income qualification required.

Utility Assistance
The center is a site for utility assistance through Community Action Agency. Call center at 682-7166 for more information. There are income guidelines for this program. Appointments scheduled based on availability and need.
