Services offered

Free weights, cardiovascular equipment, heavy bags, speed bags. You must be registered with a boxing club or Kajukenbo to use any of the boxing equipment. Free weights and cardiovascular equipment are open to the public.

Monday – Friday, 3:00 – 8:30 p.m., maximum 2 hours only.

Monday – Friday, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Boxing programs are free; however, participants interested in becoming amateur or professional boxers must register with USA/ABF, $50 per year.

Kajukembo
Instructors: Donald Washington and John Truman
Monday and Wednesday, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
This is a form of martial arts offered to all ages.
Fee: Free

There are other boxing programs offered at the center, however there is a capacity on each program, so please call the center for more information.

Social Services

Community Nutrition Programs, WIC, and FOOD Plus promote healthy eating habits for pregnant women, new moms, infants, children and seniors. Services are provided at several locations throughout Pima County.

Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) provides nutrition education and "checks" to purchase nutritional foods designed to supplement the family food budget. The program is funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

FOOD Plus is the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) funded through USDA that Provides eligible families with food packages.

The Folate Program provides multivitamins containing folic acid, a B-vitamin, to low-income, childbearing women. Taking folate regularly can significantly reduce the incident of birth defects such as spina bifida.

Arizona Farmer's Market Nutrition Program (AZFMNP) provides coupons that can be used to buy fresh, unprepared fruits and vegetables from state approved farmers, farmer's markets and roadside stands. Women and children that have been certified to receive WIC services or who are on a waiting list for WIC certification are eligible to participate.

Clinica Amistad
People who have no insurance and no access to healthcare are eligible for services. The clinic will see patients of all ages requiring basic primary care.
