Application Procedures

• ATTENTION APPLICANTS! Effective 1/1/08, all applications submitted for Pima County positions must be submitted on the new Pima County Application form, which is available on this website or in person at the Pima County Human Resources Department 150 W. Congress, 4 th Floor Tucson, AZ 85701. Pursuant to MSR 4.2.C.5, applicants who fail to submit the proper application form will be disqualified.

Pima County has made some recent updates to the Office Support Series and Administrative Support Specialist supplemental application forms. These updates were necessary to more closely reflect the experiences and qualifications needed to be successful within Pima County . If you have submitted an application for any of these positions in the last six months, you will need to come into our office, 150 W. Congress, 4th floor, Health & Welfare Building to complete the new supplemental form(s) in order to be considered for any current opening.

• Job listings are updated every Friday and are available at our employment desk. The phone numbers for contacting the employment desk are (520) 740-8028 or (520) 740-8085.

• Applications are accepted only during the period of recruitment as stated in each announcement. Applications may be faxed to us at (520) 620-1487. Applications must be received in this office or by facsimile prior to 5:00 p.m. on the closing day. We are unable to accept applications electronically, for further questions please email us at hr@pima.gov.

• A separate application must be submitted for each classification applied for. A single application is good for any position within a classification. We keep applications on file for six months.

• Photocopied applications will be accepted with an original signature and date.

• Resumes will not be accepted in lieu of an application. Resumes are accepted for positions in pay grade 35 or above and must be attached to the completed application. Do not say "see resume".

• Once an application is submitted, it becomes the property of Pima County. Make copies before submitting your application. Changes to your application or additional information may be submitted on an Applicant Change Form.

• Some positions require testing and will be identified as such in the announcement.

• Please pay close attention to the Minimum Qualifications for each position. If your application does not meet these minimum qualifications, it will be rejected.
