Where to Locate Reliable Health Info Online

" "There are plenty of websites offering health information online, but many times that information may be incorrect or even dangerously unreliable. Here are links to websites, many of which come highly recommended by the Medical Library Association which they feel provide the most reliable information on subjects of general health, cancer and women's health.

According to a recent article in Absolute Advantage, the magazine of the Wellness Councils of America, there are more than 20,000 health-related Internet websites dispensing medical information - much of it inaccurate, unreliable and in some cases dangerous. And using Internet search engines isn't any guarantee that you'll find accurate health information. The Wellness Advisory Council reminds you that there is no substitute for the advice and counsel of a qualified medical professional or your primary care physician, and that you should always contact her or him whenever you have any medical or health concerns.
