Opportunities
View Wellness Calendar and Activities

Fitness classes. A free Yoga class is offered every Monday and Wednesday, 12:10 to 12:50 pm, in the Main Library. A Body Sculpting & Pilates class is offered every Tuesday and Thursday, 12:10 to 12:50 pm, at the Abrams Building (3950 S. Country Club) for the low price of $30 for 6 weeks. Additional classes offered at various worksites.

Educational presentations on a variety of wellness topics at various worksites.

Health screenings. Blood pressure, body fat and grip strength testing at various worksites. Biometric screenings, including cholesterol testing and health coaching, will be offered again in May 2009.

Annual health fair in April or May at the Tucson Convention Center.

Flu shot clinics are offered every October/November at various worksites (based on serum availability).

Physical activity programs. A variety of fun, motivating incentive programs are offered throughout the year.

Weight management programs. Weight Watchers at Work meetings are held on Wednesdays at 11:45 a.m. at the Administration Building (130 W. Congress), 1st Floor Conference Room and at the Abrams Building (3950 S. Country Club) at Noon, Room 4108/4110.; 10-week series is $120 with no registration fee.

Fitness and wellness discounts including discounted rate of $24.99 per month and no enrollment fee at L.A. Fitness and $25 per month and no enrollment fee at Gold's Gyms. Contact Wellness for your discount voucher. Discounted rates also available at many local fitness facilities and with local wellness providers.

Wellness Action Committee provides employees a chance to volunteer, contribute ideas for programming, bring programs to worksites and enhance leadership skills.

You understand that Pima County and affiliates disclaim any liability for any costs, claims, injuries, actions, or damage suffered by you, no matter what your relationship, as a result of participation in the activity.

Participation in all activities is strictly voluntary, and any injuries suffered in conjunction shall not be subject to reimbursement under any workers/compensation law or any other applicable law.
