Pima County Employee Benefits


This site has been designed for eligible Pima County employees. Its primary purpose is to keep you up to date by providing information, forms and plan documents. We hope that you find this useful and complete.

Definitions of employee eligibility for insurance coverage, insurability of dependents, qualifying events due to family and employment status changes, and insurance while on a leave of absence, can be found in Personnel Policy 8-122, Group Insurance.

While every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information contained, in the event of any discrepancy, the legal documents, policies, or contracts pertaining to the various benefits will prevail.

Employee Benefits Guide 2011-2012

Effective July 01, 2011, employees who engage in healthy lifestyle actions are eligible to receive a $5.00 discount per pay period on the medical insurance premiums. Please review the following Wellness/Healthy Lifestyle Discount Eligibility Guidelines, then log on to ADP / HR Benefits Solution to certify your eligibility.

Wellness/Healthy Lifestyle Discount Eligibility Guidelines

To receive your wellness discount, you will need to have completed at least one of the following actions:

1) Have been tobacco-free for at least the past six months.

2) If you are not tobacco-free, agree to enroll at no cost to you, as part of your medical benefit plan in UnitedHealthcare's QuitPower (Tobacco Cessation) program.

QuitPower helps you break the habit once and for all, offering:
  • A Wellness Coach who can help keep you motivated
  • Help creating a customized quit plan
  • Stop-smoking aids such as nicotine patches or gum (as applicable)

3) Have taken the on-line Health Assessment (HA) on myuhc.com in the past year.

4) Have engaged in at least 150 minutes of exercise a week for at least the past six months.

5) Have had a preventive physical health exam within the past year. For example: routine physical, well-woman or well-man exam.

6) Have had a preventive health screening within the past year. For example: mammogram, biometric screening or colonoscopy.

Log on now to ADP / HR Benefits Solution to certify your eligibility.

This discount is available anytime throughout the plan year 2011-2012. If you have not yet earned this discount, you may complete the above at anytime to obtain the discount for the remainder of the plan year 2011-2012. You may also update the eligibility questions in ADP / HR Benefits Solution anytime throughout the plan year.
