Pima County has made some recent updates to the Office Support Series and Administrative Support Specialist supplemental application forms. These updates were necessary to more closely reflect the experiences and qualifications needed to be successful within Pima County. WASTEWATER TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER - 2748

Grade: 62 Minimum Annual Starting Salary: $59,970
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in chemical or sanitary engineering, chemistry or a closely related field, and six years of experience in either water pollution control, analysis of heavy metals and organic compound, project management, industrial facility operations and maintenance, engineering or water/wastewater industry technical consulting. Two years of the required experience must be at the supervisory or management level. (A Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in one of the above cited disciplines may substitute for one year of the aforementioned experience, not the management or supervisory experience.)
Licenses and Certificates: All positions require a valid Arizona Class D Driver's License at the time of appointment.
Special Notice Items: A post offer medical screening is required of the successful candidate prior to employment. At time of interview, applicants are required to provide a complete five year Motor Vehicle Report.
Preferred Qualifications:
This position is in the Treatment Division of the Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department.
TRADES MAINTENANCE (TM) SPECIALIST - 0912
OPENING: MAY 2, 2008

Grade: 38 Minimum Annual Starting Salary: $34,775
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an industry-recognized apprenticeship program in a trade related to facilities management such as Plumbing, HVAC, or Electrical and one year of journey-level experience in the same. (Relevant education may substitute for up to six months of the aforementioned experience.) OR Five years of journey-level experience in Plumbing, HVAC or Electrical. (Relevant education may substitute for up to two and one half years of the aforementioned experience.) OR Two years of experience with Pima County as a Trades Maintenance (TM) Technician in Plumbing, HVAC, or Electrical. (Relevant education may substitute for up to one year of the aforementioned experience.)
Licenses and Certificates: A valid Arizona Driver's License is required at the time of appointment or prior to completion of an initial/promotional probation period.
Special Notice Items: Due to need for access to law enforcement, detention or correctional facilities, this position requires satisfactory completion of a personal background investigation by law enforcement agencies. A post offer medical screening is required of the successful candidate prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
General Maintenance: Experience repairing or replacing sinks, water closet urinals, faucets, flushometers of commercial/institutional grade fixtures; Experience repairing or replacing centrifugal pumps and vertical ejection pumps; Experience reading and interpreting rough drawings and mechanical blueprints; Experience with the techniques of brazing and soldering; Experience using portable mechanical and powered augers; Experience participating in preventative maintenance programs.
HVAC: Experience troubleshooting and repairing chilled water and hot water cooling/heating type air handling equipment; Experience repairing and replacing pneumatic and low voltage controls (thermostats, damper actuators), bearings, shafts, fans; Experience performing filter changes and lubrication; Experience using and interpreting voltage multi-meters and tachometers.
Electrical: Experience with minor troubleshooting of motor control centers; Experience repairing and replacing electric motors; Experience servicing and repairing 120/277 AC lighting fixtures; Experience repairing and replacing electrical receptacles and light switches.
There are three positions with rotating shifts, rotating days, evening or night shifts (may require weekends as part of the shift), in the Mission Road Maintenance Division of the Pima County Facilities Management Department.
PATIENT CARE SERVICES – LEVEL III – 4147

Grade: M3 Minimum Annual Starting Salary: $59,906 - $70,903 DOQ
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
Licenses and Certificates: Possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Arizona. Failure to maintain the required licensure shall be grounds for termination. An Arizona Driver’s License is required at the time of appointment.
Special Notice Items: This position requires the successful completion of a pre-employment background check and motor vehicle record check.

This position is in the Public Health Nursing Division of the Pima County Health Department.

Desired Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in civil or sanitary engineering, environmental science, hydrology, or a closely related field and seven years of experience in one or more of the above mentioned fields, two of which must have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity. (Additional relevant experience and/or education may be substituted.)
This is an unclassified position, not subject to the Pima County Merit System Rules.
Licenses and Certificates: Registration as a Professional Engineer with the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration or the ability to obtain same within one year of the date of appointment. Failure to obtain/maintain the required certification/licensure may be grounds for termination.
Preferred Qualifications:
This unclassified position is in the Environmental Planning and Compliance Division of the Pima County Transportation Department.
