ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT SERVICES MANAGER-UNCLASSIFIED – 7485 CFO

Pima County, Arizona is seeking a Chief Financial Officer for the Pima Health System and Services Enterprise Fund (PHS), a department within Pima County. PHS operates an acute and ambulatory health care plan for Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), the Medicaid plan for Arizona (2,500 members) and a long-term care health plan for the Arizona Long Term Care System (ALTCS) providing residential and medical assistance to clients (4,200 members). PHS also manages Posada del Sol Specialty Skilled Nursing Facility, a 156-bed facility.

This is an unclassified position, not subject to the Pima County Merit System Rules.

Desired Qualifications:  A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, public administration, finance or accounting and three years of professional administrative experience, which involved managerial responsibilities. (Additional relevant experience may be substituted for a portion of the aforementioned education.) (Additional relevant education from an accredited college or university may be substituted for a portion of the aforementioned experience.)

Preferred Qualifications:  Minimum of 5 years healthcare management in Finance that includes general ledger, budgeting, reimbursement and patient accounting.

This position is in the Departmental Finance-PHS Division of the Pima County Finance and Risk Management Department.


MATERIALS TESTING TECHNICIAN - 2463

OPENING: JUNE 26, 2009

CLOSING: JULY 10, 2009, 5:00 p.m.

Grade: 40    Minimum Annual Starting Salary: $36,293

Minimum Qualifications:  Completion of course work in algebra and trigonometry from an accredited school and two years of experience sampling and testing construction materials.  OR  Two years of experience with Pima County as a Public Works Engineering Technician.

A SUPPLEMENT MUST BE SUBMITTED WITH APPLICATION IF QUALIFYING WITH COURSE WORK.

Licenses and Certificates:  All positions require a valid Arizona Class D Driver's License at the time of appointment. Certification by the State of Arizona in nuclear density testing safety procedures is required by the completion of the probationary period. Failure to obtain/maintain the required certification shall be grounds for termination.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Current ATTI Certification in at least one of the following areas: Soils and Aggregate Testing; Field Sampling and Testing; Asphaltic Concrete Testing.
  2. Experience in soil density testing and soil and aggregate testing.
  3. Secondary education in construction materials or civil engineering.

MATERIALS TESTING TECHNICIAN – SENIOR - 2464

Minimum Qualifications:  Completion of course work in algebra and trigonometry from an accredited school and four years of experience sampling and testing construction materials.  OR  Two years of experience with Pima County as a Materials Testing Technician.  OR  Four years of experience with Pima County as a Public Works Engineering Technician.

Grade: 39    Minimum Annual Starting Salary: $35,525

Minimum Qualifications:  Two years of experience inspecting construction projects such as roadways, bridges and flood control channels.  (Additional relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or technical school may be substituted)  OR  Two years of experience as a Public Works Engineering Technician with Pima County.

Licenses and Certificates: A valid Arizona Class D driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain a current license shall be grounds for termination.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge and experience in inspection of roadway and flood control construction projects.Experience reading, interpreting and understanding construction plans and specifications.Knowledge of materials sampling, testing and construction surveying.Experience calculating quantities and assisting project lead inspector in estimating monthly payments to contractors.
  2. Experience using skills in communication, coordination and project documentation.

PUBLIC WORKS CONTRUCTION INSPECTOR – SENIOR - 2466

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. [Satisfactory completion of  a Construction Surveying or Elementary Surveying course from an accredited college, vocational/technical school or military training may be substituted for two years of the required surveying experience.]  OR  One year of experience with Pima County as a Survey Instrument Technician with Pima County and six months of experience in a lead/supervisory capacity (which may be concurrent with basic experience.).

SURVEY SPECIALIST - 2479

Grade: 49    Minimum Annual Starting Salary: $44,642

Minimum Qualifications:  Six years of professional surveying experience and one year of supervisory and training experience (which may be concurrent with the general experience required) plus current certification in any state as a Professional or Registered Land Surveyor.  OR  Three years of experience with Pima County as a Survey Party Chief and current certification in any state as a Professional or Registered Land Surveyor.

Licenses and Certificates: Registration in any state as a Professional Land Surveyor is required at the time of appointment.  State of Arizona registration as Registered Land Surveyor is required within one year of appointment.  Maintenance of current Arizona registration as a Registered Land Surveyor is a condition of employment and failure to obtain/maintain same shall be grounds for termination.  A valid Class D Arizona Driver's License required at time of appointment.
