TRADES MAINTENANCE (TM) TECHNICIAN – 0911MG

(BUILDING & GROUNDS MAINTENANCE)

(PREFERENCE GIVEN TO PARKS AND RECREATION EMPLOYEES

AS A PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITY)

 

OPENING:  SEPTEMBER 5, 2008

CLOSING:  SEPTEMBER 12, 2008, 5:00 P.M.

Grade:  33    Minimum Annual Starting Salary:  $31,356

 

Minimum Qualifications: Two years of experience performing helper or apprentice level duties in Building and Grounds Maintenance.  (Relevant training or education may substitute for up to one year of the aforementioned experience.)  OR  One year of experience within Pima County as a Trades Maintenance Helper in Building and Grounds Maintenance.  (Relevant training or education may substitute for up to six months of the aforementioned experience.) 

 

Licenses and Certificates:  Pesticide certification from the Arizona Structural Pesticide Commission required within one year probationary period. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  1. Experience performing building and grounds maintenance. 
  2. Irrigation experience.

 

There are four positions in the Operations Division of the Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Department.    


TRADES MAINTENANCE (TM) SPECIALIST – 0912MG

(BUILDING & GROUNDS MAINTENANCE)

(PREFERENCE GIVEN TO PARKS AND RECREATION EMPLOYEES

AS A PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITY)

 

OPENING:  SEPTEMBER 5, 2008

CLOSING:  SEPTEMBER 12, 2008, 5:00 P.M.

Grade:  38     Minimum Annual Starting Salary:  $34,775

 

Minimum Qualifications: Completion of an industry-recognized apprenticeship program in Building and Grounds Maintenance and one year of journey-level experience in the same.  (Relevant education may substitute for up to six months of the aforementioned experience.)  OR  Five years of journey-level experience in Building and Grounds Maintenance. (Relevant education may substitute for up to two and one half years of the aforementioned experience.) OR Two years of experience with Pima County as a Trades Maintenance (TM) Technician in Building and Grounds Maintenance. (Relevant education may substitute for up to one year of the aforementioned experience.) 

 

Licenses and Certificates:  Pesticide certification from the Arizona Structural Pesticide Commission required within one year probationary period.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Position 1:  Experience leading and supervising crews in general building maintenance and repairs; Experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance; Irrigation experience.

Position 2:  Experience leading and supervising crews in sports field and turf maintenance; Experience performing general building maintenance and repairs; Experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance.

 

There are two positions in the Operations Division of the Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Department. 


THERAPEUTIC ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR – 5245

 

OPENING: SEPTEMBER 5, 2008

CLOSING: SEPTEMBER 12, 2008, 5:00 p.m.

Grade: 37    Minimum Hourly Starting Salary: $16.36

 

Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in therapeutic recreation or a closely related area such as special education, rehabilitation, or recreation and two years of therapeutic activity experience within an extended care facility, rehabilitation facility, or hospital of which one year is in a lead or supervisory position.  (Additional relevant experience and/or education may be substituted.)  OR  Two years of employment as a Therapeutic Activity Specialist - Senior with Pima County Government.  

 

This variable time position is in the Therapeutic Activities Division of Posada Del Sol.


PARKS & RECREATION EMPLOYEES ONLY

 

TRADES MAINTENANCE (TM) HELPER – 0910MG

(BUILDING & GROUNDS MAINTENANCE)

 

OPENING:  SEPTEMBER 5, 2008

CLOSING:  SEPTEMBER 12, 2008, 5:00 p.m.

Grade: 23    Minimum Annual Starting Salary: $25,944

 

Minimum Qualifications:  Six months of experience performing helper-level duties in Building and Grounds Maintenance.  (Relevant training or education may be substituted for the aforementioned experience.)

  

Licenses and Certificates:  A valid Arizona Driver’s License is required at the time of job offer. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  1. Experience performing building and grounds maintenance.
  2. Irrigation experience. 

 

This position is in the Operations Division of the Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation Department.
