Desert Dwellers

Tuesday, June 2 - Friday, June 5

We explore a desert oasis known as Agua Caliente Park to learn about the adaptations of animals, plants and people who inhabit the Sonoran Desert. Children ages 8-12 enjoy many outdoor activities. In the heat of the day we retreat indoors for nature crafts and hands-on science discoveries.

People, Place and Time

Tuesday, June 16 - Friday, June 19

People have lived near the spring at Agua Caliente Park for thousands of years. Children ages 8-12 participate in outdoor and indoor activities to experience the ways pre-historic people used natural resources to make a living in the desert. We create tools from natural materials and build a model Hohokam village. On the last day, campers become archaeologists to “unearth” artifacts from the past.

Aquatic Adventures

Tuesday, July 7- Friday July 10

Spend four days exploring a desert oasis; from the source of the water, to its properties, its quality and the countless life forms that depend upon it. We’ll spend most of our mornings outdoors and afternoons in the Rose Cottage Education Center. Join in the fun, use cool science equipment and do some artwork.
