June Drought Monitor Report

The Governor reminds all Arizonans of the fragile nature of our arid environment and the importance of creating a culture of conservation; and calls upon citizens, businesses and all levels of government to become more aware of water use habits and increase water conservation awareness programs.

The Governor has ordered Arizona Department of Water Resources to:

  • Work with cities and towns to implement strong, effective water conservation programs;
  • Develop a water conservation toolkit to assist communities with their conservation programs;
  • Create a water wise community certification program to promote greater awareness of water issues through education, action, and celebration.
    The Governor also calls upon local and state governments and federal agencies to increase water conservation public awareness programs.

By creating a culture of conservation, we can greatly reduce the impacts of drought on our natural resources, economy, and quality of life.
