There are 23 threatened and endangered plants and animals in Pima County. Most are in danger because their habitat has been destroyed or damaged, some are in danger because of threats from exotic species, and some are in danger because of hunting. Some endangered plants and animals were never very common in this area. Only a few of these species can live in the same areas where people live. Some plants and animals need wetlands to live in. These plants and animals are threatened when their water supply disappears. If you would like to find out more about any of these plants or animals (like what color to color them) , just go to our FACT SHEET pages.
