Acuña Cactus
Echinomastus erectocentrus var. acunensis
Full grown Acuña cacti are only
from three to nine inches tall. The cactus is pale green with
flowers that are pink to purple in color. The fruits are pale
green. The flowers can be pollinated by at least ten species of
native bees. The Acuña cactus is found on well-drained
knolls and gravel ridges in the Sonoran desert scrub.
