Mission

"To create a more livable and viable county and to improve the quality of life for residents, with a special emphasis on economically and socially disadvantaged communities, through the development and coordination of programs and services."

Programs

The Department of Community Development and Neighborhood Conservation operates five main programs:

Affordable Housing and Community Planning
Work with County jurisdiction, non-profits and developers to develop and sustain, affordable, decent housing.

Community and Rural Development
Work with neighborhoods to develop more livable and sustainable communities with small capital infrastructure projects available to all residents. Revitalizes targeted areas through economic development activities and housing market satbilization.

Neighborhood Reinvestment Program
Support efforts that assist low and moderate income households outside the City of Tucson limits with housing, infrastructure and economic development opportunities.

Neighborhood Stabilization Program

Revitalizes targeted areas through economic development activities and housing market stabilization.

Outside Agency Program

Funding to non-profits targeting programs serving disadvantaged communities and at risk populations. Formal application process required.

Pima County Brownfields Program
Provides basic information about the recently awarded EPA Brownfields Program.

Special Populations (Homeless Support and Services)
Supports local non-profits working with at risk and homeless populations throughout Pima County
