Incorporation

It is the most basic democratic right for people to govern themselves. We must remember, however, that incorporations of new cities and towns will have significant impacts on the entire County. The evolution of new cities will not diminish the role of County level government as most of the services provided by the County are mandated by State and Federal law. It is of the utmost importance for those seeking incorporation to realize all the facts to avoid making a hasty or uninformed decision. The primary question of new incorporation should be whether the newly incorporated community can afford to satisfy the demands made upon it by its residents.
