On September 27, the Planning and Zoning Commission will be considering three requests for Comprehensive Plan amendments in the area of Arthur Pack Park, for properties that are identified as Habitat Protection Priorities in the 2004 Open Space bond program.  As discussed at the joint CAC/P&Z meeting, the P&Z Commission would appreciate information on whether the County is pursuing acquisition of these parcels before the P&Z meets to discuss these on September 27, 2005

 

5.                  Critical Landscape Linkages (5 minutes)

Update from Staff

A.      Catalina/Tortolita connection across Oracle

B.     Avra I-10 connection across I-10

C.     Garcia Strip connection across CAP canal

 

6.                  Acquisition of Firkins and Pacheco properties - Tucson Mountain Park South Corridor Project Area (5 minutes)

2004 Open Space Bond Category: Community Open Space Parcels – Tucson Mountain Park South Corridor. This project area is located south of Ajo Highway and west of Mission Rd. Commission recommended acquisition of four parcels at June and July meetings. Staff recommends approval of the acquisition of the Firkins and Pacheco parcels to complete the acquisitions in this project area.  Background materials will be provided to the Commission at least 5 calendar days before the meeting.  

 

7.                  Acquisition of Route606, Matesich, Selective Marketing, and Serr properties - Tucson Mountain Park Camino de Oeste Project Area (15 minutes)

2004 Open Space Bond Category: Community Open Space Parcels – Tucson Mountain Park Camino De Oeste. This project area is located South of Gates Pass, east of Camino de Oeste. Staff recommends approval of the acquisition of these parcels. Background materials will be provided to the Commission at least 5 calendar days before the meeting

 

8.                  Application for the Sale of Open Space to Pima County (10 minutes)

Rail X Ranch:1468 fee acres and 14,000 grazing lease acres in Tortolita Mountains in Pinal County, NE of Carpenter Ranch. This property is NOT included in the 2004 Bond Ordinance for the Open Space Acquisition Program. 

 

9.                  Review and Approval of the End of Year Semi-Annual Status Report (15 minutes)

Pursuant to the County’s Truth in Bonding code, Chapter and Section 3.06.040 H, the Conservation Acquisition Commission must review and approve the semi-annual progress report on the Open Space Bond Program component of the Bond Implementation Plan prior to it being transmitted to the County Bond Advisory Committee and the Board of Supervisors.
