Any person may file with the Pima County Division of Elections an argument, not more than three hundred words in length, advocating or opposing any ballot measure related to the Special Bond Election, by 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at Pima County Division of Elections, 130 West Congress, 8th Floor, Tucson AZ, 85701. A person filing an argument shall deposit with the Pima County Division of Elections, at the time of filing, a fee of $100.00 for the purpose of offsetting a portion of the proportionate cost of the paper and printing of the argument. If the person filing an argument requests that the argument appear in connection with more than one ballot measure, a deposit shall be made for each placement requested. Checks shall be made payable to the Pima County Division of Elections. At its January 20, 2004 meeting, the Pima County Board of Supervisors ordered and called a special bond election for May 18, 2004. Pursuant to the order and call of election; six bond questions pertaining to desert open space and urban encroachment of Davis Monthan Air Force Base, public health and community facilities, public safety and justice facilities, parks and recreation, river parks and flood control improvements, and sewer system revenue bonds will be reflected on the special bond election ballot.
