The Board of Supervisors established the Conservation Bond Advisory Committee to provide recommendations to the 2004 County Bond Advisory Committee on the magnitude, substance, and procedures for implementing the largest open space bond request ever placed before the voters of Pima County.

The Board asks the Conservation Bond Advisory Committee to develop recommendations for a bond improvement plan ordinance that will govern implementation of a 2004 Open Space Acquisition Bond Program, if it is approved by the voters. Key elements of the bond improvement plan ordinance will include, but not be limited to determining the size of the bond question; establishing the goals of the program; selecting criteria for targets of acquisition to support Pima County’s Multi Species Habitat Conservation Plan and other areas of community importance; setting an optimal timetable for completion of the 2004 Open Space Bond Program; and identifying key legal, administrative, and procedural issues that will effect implementation of the open space acquisition program.
