A Message from the Pima County Board of Supervisors
At the meeting of June 17, 2003, the Pima
County Board of Supervisors directed staff to begin preparations
for a possible May 18, 2004, bond election. The Board further
directed that the May 2004 bond election would include open
space, neighborhood reinvestment, and other improvements as
recommended by a bond advisory committee. At the meeting of
July 1, 2003, the Board created three advisory committees for
the 2004 election.
The Pima County Bond Advisory Committee is
a 19-member body, with the charge to recommend to the Board
on the magnitude and substance of the bond package. The Board
asked the Committee to report back by December 2, 2003.
The Conservation and Neighborhood Reinvestment
committees were created by the Board to assist the County Bond
Advisory Committee. The Board charged both of these committees
to make recommendations to the County Bond Advisory Committee
on the substance, structure and procedures for an open space
and neighborhood reinvestment program respectively, if they
are approved by the voters. These committees are scheduled
to report to the County Bond Advisory Committee by mid-October
2003.
