This is an example of the receipts found with newspapers at a depth of 8 to 10 feet in the privy associated with 48 E. Alameda. This receipt from the Pacific Grocery at 128 E. Congress, was given to Mose (or perhaps Moses) Kelly. It lists items such as starch, lard, cheese, and salt.
