Archaeological Photos

1918
This box, mounted on a tripod, is a digital laser imager (lidar), which is used to produce very accurate three dimensional images of the features. This equipment provides a record of features much faster and far more accurately than traditional archaeological recording techniques. The images can be uploaded into a computer to provide three dimensional views of a feature after feature excavation has been concluded.
