Archaeological Photos
This photo shows the complex layering of
deposits within a historic privy pit, and some of the artifacts
in certain layers. This profile is the result of excavating half
of the privy and cutting through the deposits to reveal the layers,
much like the layers of a cake are seen when a slice is cut from
the cake.
