Current Map
This map shows the Joint Courts project area
from a 2005 aerial photo. Since this photograph was taken,
the small gas station at the southwest corner of Council and
Grosetta, and the old Coconuts nightclub building just south
of Toole, have been demolished.
Maps of the Project Area, Every 10 Years (or So)
The following maps are taken from a report (A Cemetery and
What Followed) prepared by Statistical Research Inc. These
maps show buildings and the names of the occupants every 10
years or so, between 1910 and 1960. The street now called Council
was previously called Miltenberg. Information on these maps
is based on three primary sources of information, the Bureau
of the Census, Sanborn Map Company maps, and the Tucson City
Directory. These maps show the changes in land use from residential,
to a mix of residential and commercial, to entirely commercial
over the six decades. Please note that the lots shown at various
times as 186, 196, 200, 202, and 204 N. Stone are no longer
part of the Joint Courts project area. These are all in PDF
format.
