Today marks the beginning of a new ECAP campaign. As with other years we have designated a theme for ECAP to symbolize the effort we will be undertaking to make this campaign just as successful as the prior ones.
Our theme this year is “Pay It Forward”. What does pay it forward mean in the context of ECAP? It simply means that when a good thing is done for us, we take that good deed and pass it on to another person in need. We participate in what is hopefully a chain reaction of helping others at a time in their life when that help is genuinely needed. We act not out of a desire to repay the person that helped us but we take the act of kindness and “pay it forward” to another. We act not out of obligation to pay a debt but out of a spirit of giving where giving is needed.
All of the participants in the ECAP process including the generous employees of Pima County, the numerous ECAP agencies, and those who have volunteered to administrate the process such as the ECAP Committee and our coordinators and solicitors, will all be working together to pay it forward to make sure that needs and services are available to those in need. |
