Threatened and Endangered Species

There are 23 threatened and endangered plants and animals in Pima County. Most are in danger because their habitat has been destroyed or damaged.

Threatened--any species which is likely to become endangered within the forseeable future throughout all or a significant part of its range.

Endangered: any species which is in danger of extinction throughout all or a significant part of its range.

Candidate: the USFWS has sufficient information to support a proposal to list under the ESA.
