Employment Service (Step One):

Unemployment insurance clients are required to register with the local State Job Service office, and will receive job search assistance. This registration must be done one or two days before or after an unemployment insurance claim is filed and can be done in-person or through the Internet.

There are three Employment Service Offices in Tucson, which offer a variety of services: career counseling, job seeking techniques (individual and group basis), job information center, telephone referral system, veteran services, and special recruitment information. Clients may register Monday through Friday form 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Unemployment Insurance (Step Two):

All Unemployment Insurance (UI) offices in Arizona consolidated their operations into call centers, which are referred to as the Arizona Reemployment Rapid Access or ARRA. All UI activities can be done by phone or on the Internet: claim applications, weekly claim certifications, and information and assistance. The claim is effective the Sunday of the week in which an individual files.  Please have the following information available:

• Social Security number


• Complete name, address and dates of employment for all employers during the last 18 months


• Alien registration number if not a U.S. citizen


• Copy of DD-214 if there has been military services in the past 18 months


• Copy of SF-50 of SF-8 if there has been employment as a Federal Civilian Employee in the last 18 months


• You will be asked to create a four digit Personal Identification Number (PIN), DO NOT USE 0000.

Option 1 – To file a claim for UI benefits

Option 2 – For employers

Option 3 – To find out if a check has been issued, and to file weekly continued claims/connection to TIPS

Option 4 – For specific questions on your current claim or to change your address

Option 5 – For general questions regarding the UI
(Use Option 4 if you already have an open claim or Option 1 to open a claim)
